It is the week before christmas and all through the house everyone is stirring except a mouse, the two felines make sure of it.  I had my traditional holiday break down today.....but its all better now.   The trio is gonna have a wonderful week, ending with a catered christmas eve meal and treats that I will be making this week.  There is a thin layer of snow on the ground, youngest member has sugar plums dancing in her head and I am getting ready to settle down.

It was finally a perfect fall friday night.  I could see my breath and taking a deep one in felt so refreshing.  I enjoy being refreshed.

get the lead out

Its friday which means soon a new week will start.  This is awesome because Monday through Thursday at 2 pm I was a lazy bone.  But things have a way of working out, a grand lady and my better half came to my rescue with words of encouragement.  And yesterday way back in the yard was a little something with a monkey on top, it survived a really cold winter and a super hot summer and with a little water became youngest members brand new toy. She squealed at the monkey for hours and used the price fisher to hold herself up while she stood, now thats getting the lead out.

The best toy ever right now,  yuuup it's the tv remote she is studying it right now like there is no tomorrow and there is a grey cat trying to get in on the action, I hope since grey cat has her tail in youngest members face that she pulls it really hard.  

I am so glad that everything interests her for at least 5 minutes, even dumb things like lint provoke such curiosity with this kid, I am thankful for this because I have nothing to offer her today.  Sure I sit on the ground holding her as she stands up, I take her with me outside and we play.  Plus we took the dumpster to the curb!  Now she is wanting me so I will go to her, Im relieved she doesnt know that I am tired, tired out of my mind and I don't know how to fix the tv channel.

I love me a good recipe to try and make or a craft that looks easy enough to duplicate.  I love the idea of scrapbooking, photo taking, nutritionalyzing.....I know, thats not a word.  I want to home economize, couponize, have crisp clean sheets, a perfect looking inside of a refrigerator, a cat litter box with nothing but litter in it.  I wish my hair was lovely everyday, laundry was not being stored in the dryer.  I wish there were not gerber graduates on the floor in some places.  I wish there were not the females who make it all look effortless.  So as I sit here at the computer none of my wish list is getting taken care of.  I type a little then I go look at youngest member while she sleeps.  Later the trio will go in search of the biggest pumpkin this town has to offer.  Watching the baby sleep and pumkin gathering, that will be my two favorite activities today and my only activities today....I can handle that.

academia

I have been in a love hate relationship with my state university for years.  I am the most non traditional student ever to attend state I am pretty sure.  I have over the years had really successful semsters filled with at times 3 classes and a 3.0 or better g.p.a, and on the flip side there are times in my life when I think I enroll in classes out of habit.  Once these semesters get started two things begin to happen, one is the nightmares and two is the con artist that tries to con her way to good grades.   Soon my flag will be lifted and I will be able to enroll in my last 3 classes that stand between me and a bachelors degree.  I have been trying to complete this journey for a little over 14 years...........for a bachelors degree, you know the degree that takes just 4 years of a level headed persons life.  But that is not me and actually being in a constant state of finishing something has done me quite well.  But now theres a youngest member and I despise anything that takes me away from her so what am I to do?   I think I will give myself a really cool con artist name and for the first time admit how I got thru college.  It wont be pretty but I have a feeling Faith Collins can handle it.

playdates can be exhausting

As soon as the weather started to cool off this year, me and the youngest member became mobile in our very own car and I began to seek out people like us to hang out with.  This is not easy, we are or should I say I am not very good at casual conversation, and at times when I try to convey a idea or point, to someone I am meeting for the first, second or third time I can make no sense to them.  I can tell this by the looks on their faces. 
I went to a couple of advertised mommy group meetings and really did not have much luck.  Plus there was the day H E double hockey sticks slipped out and I am pretty sure they have kicked me and youngest member out for evah, we have not heard from them or the latest location that a play date would be. 
But when we both go to the park it is a totally different story, we go to take a few pictures and swing and just like that we meet cool moms who are just hanging out.   Some of these meetings have even turned into a they invite us over to their house and we let our babies play.  Sounds pretty cool huh?  I am straight tuckered out!

I have a terrible driving record, apparantly it rolls with a person for 5 years.  I never mean to drive over the speed limit, or wreck into things.  Progressive does not let a person pick their price by the way.  Soon I will have a insured, tagged auto and the freedom to go and do as I please.  But with youngest member in tow I will be buckled up and obeying all traffic laws.  I was fibbing when I said I never used to mean to drive over the speed limit, and while I am making a confession I thought STOP meant only if necessary.  I have a new respect now for laws...it was a good run.

Al is weird

Back about a decade or so ago a curly haired guy would remake popular songs to be quite ridiculous.  Well last night I revisited some of those renditions but not by choice.  The youngest member was fast asleep, my feet were propped up, and I was channel surfing sometimes landing on Jersey Shore....anyway the weirdness bothered me to no end and I am not sure why, it is pretty silly stuff.  Just eat it

peel and slice two cucumbers, add to a mixture of miracle salad dressing with equal parts vinegar and sugar with a splash of milk all whisked together....let set.....pan fry chicken sausages in a little water and add to a bun softened for a few seconds in microwave....dice up cucumber mixture and top sausage if desired or just enjoy the cucs as a side dish......ten minutes in kitchen less than 7 dollars spent and it is delicious served on a paper plate....
